Mass Internet Surveillance in Canada after Snowden:academic/activist responses

Andrew Clement, Professor, Faculty of Information, University of Toronto

Edward Snowden's unprecedented leak of secret documents has revealed the astonishing depth and range of mass state surveillance. Clement will provide an overview of the main internet surveillance programs revealed through the published leaks, particularly as they affect Canadians, and highlight the various threats they pose to freedom of expression, privacy and to our democracy more generally. He will discuss the challenge these revelations pose for surveillance researchers and the contributions they may make in resisting and reforming mass state surveillance.

Everyone welcome!
