Privacy in contemporaneity: a dispute of senses between Brazilian legal debate and social networks

This seminar aims to present different elements of the notion of privacy in Brazilian legal debate and the idea of privacy that predominates in the data exchange on social networks. In this scenario, privacy is a concept that is being destabilized and contested by different practices and discourses from two main actors: the state and the market. Examining the tensions between these actors, and the different perceptions of privacy, can help us to understand the process of transforming the concept of privacy.

Marta will be heading back to Brazil soon, so please join us for tea and cake after the seminar as a farewell celebration.

Everyone welcome!
