Post-doc position at Vrije Universiteit Brussel

The centre for Law Science Technology and Society Studies (LSTS) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel has a vacancy for a 0.4 postdoctoral researcher for the EU-funded research project, Security Impact Assessment Measure (SIAM).

LSTS is a partner in SIAM, which aims to develop a toolkit for decision-makers in the field of security, integrating STS research methodologies to incorporate a reliable assessment of the social, ethical and legal implications of alternative security applications or infrastructures.

LSTS seeks to employ a postdoctoral researcher capable of moderating focus groups, user fora and training workshops. Applicants should have familiarlity with constructive technology assessment, scenario studies, Delphi studies and Foresight methodologies, development of threat scenarios and media analysis.

This project will run for 36 months, from 2011-2013, and the appointment may in due course be extended beyond 0.4 if other LSTS research projects require postdoc coordination within the field of STS.
