The primary funding of the Surveillance Studies Centre (SSC) is from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). We are currently working on a five-year Big Data Surveillance (BDS) project funded by a SSHRC Partnership Grant. The Big Data Surveillance project examines the relationship between big data and surveillance in three linked streams: security, marketing, and governance.
Surveillance is intensifying and spreading and the Surveillance Studies Centre (SSC) is committed to high quality research to follow such developments in Canada and beyond. We are affiliated to the international Surveillance Studies Network (SSN).
